Kea Parrot Spread Winged

I was determined to capture a good action photo of a Kea in flight. Strong gales consistently ripped through the canyon making that all but impossible. Even as I thought a Kea was about to take flight, I would lock on him prepared to shutter, only to have him ripped from one canyon wall to the other much faster than I could follow.  After a while I finally got lucky and caught this guy just as he zipped in to land, and just barely grabbed the top of a bush. That first image was a good action figure, but his feathers were so ruffled that, after some reflection on which images to include in this galary, I chose this more aesthetic composition instead. Here he dodged from the bush to this rock. It happened so quickly that I was surprised I was able to frame and focus him this accurately.
