| This trail cuts through the temperate rainforest of Westland, which New Zealanders sometimes refer to as "Wetland". I know that I have used the word "luck" multiple times in describing my episodes in this country, but you won't hear that word in a positive way here. I went to Westland twice, and hit three day stretches of rain each time, even though each time the locals assured me the weather had been sunny for the two weeks prior to my arrival. |
