I never work with models, and except for
this one, all the photos
in this gallery were
taken spontaneously, without any poses. Here I had
spent quite a bit of time trying to photograph Niagra Falls
under the night lights and it was extremely challenging. A wind
was blowing toward me, and as you can see there was a mist in
the air that was so heavy that it was as if I were photographing in
the rain. I tried everything I could to keep my camera dry, but
it was getting wet just the same. The water could have short
circuited and ruined the camera, while water on the lens could
have destroyed the clarity of
the image. When this couple showed up, despite the adversity, I
jumped at the opportunity to shoot another series of photos with them in
it. They were a very handsome newly wed couple and they agreed
to pose for me in front of the same falls that decades earlier
my parents had come to see while on their honeymoon.
