I apologize that recently work on this website has dropped to
the pace of a stumbling old tortoise. My transition from
Thailand has had its bumps and potholes. I
spent my first three months dependent on public transportation, and it would
take me all day just to get into Salt Lake, run one or two
errands, and get back to the foothills of Ben Lomond.
(Nevermind that the bus would not haul me up into the mountains
for any photography.) I also have been iron shackled by a
medical problem. But I do have a car now and my health has been
great for the last four weeks, so I have been hiking, exploring,
and photographing every day.
Gasoline is so expensive that I have stayed close to home,
exploring the hills, trails, and valleys in the Ogden
area. By the time I got myself up and chugging, the mountains had already
dropped most of their fall apparrel, including the royal reds of
the bigtooth maple, so this year I have spent a lot of time in
the valleys pursuing the brilliant yellows and outstreatched
arms of the massive cottonwood trees, along with anything else
that would whisper a compositional collaboration with me before
old man winter comes to hide its intricate details under a cold
blanket. I have unearthed some stunning treasures that I am
anxious to share with you, but I will
wait until my session is over, and I can send all my images in one batch for
copyright registration. But do know, this website is not slowing
down. Not only am I gathering a landslide of new images, but here in Utah I have
access to my complete archive, and will be digitally scanning
many color transparencies that even I have not seen for decades. |
