For a fleeting moment a whitetail deer is caught crossing the road in front of gorgeous autumn colors.

Fleeting Moment
October 7, 2010     f/11    1/400 second

I was driving along this quiet Pennsylvania road when I spotted  whitetail deer along side of the road and slowed down to stop, but as I did so this doe immediately bounded across the road. I had to react very quickly, getting the car door open, standing up, framing the shot accurately and firing before she got any further than this. I had already manually set my exposure on the previous shot, which proved to be very accurate here.
