I did not buy a cage, but instead bought green wire mesh to
line the railing of my balcony. Afterwards I found some boards
to secure the bottom so that in his desperation to get away he
would not push his way out the bottom and flutter off the seven
story balcony. Even should he have enough wing power to land
without further injury, he wouldn't last long, either in the
parking lot directly below, or in the reed field just over
the wall, where besides the usual dogs and cats, he might also
stumble into a snake searching for an easy meal. And even if he
should somehow avoid the predators ever so briefly, he still
would not be able to fly
from place to place to adequately forage for food. |
