Early morning sunlight first reaches the distant autumn trees and
sets the aspen aglow. When I awoke it was 28 degrees Fahrenheit,
by mid afternoon the radio station from a nearby town reported
that it was 82 degrees. In this kind of country you learn to
wear layers. Having arrived from Thailand just a few days
earlier, where the thermometer never drops below room
temperature, I wasn't acclimated to the cold. So I had a light
jacket, a down coat, and a wind breaker, and pealed them off one
at a time during the early morning hours. (Wyoming) |
